Everyday Life, Ryder Amelia

the story of our week

So. This week has been……….. difficult.

Terrible. Horrible.

Where do I begin? How about I make a list of all the things that have happened.

– our air went out. again. We have to get the entire inside unit replaced.

– my brake pads need to be replaced. and I have had a flat tire.

– I spent entire day on Tuesday at doctor and hospital getting tests done on Ryder. They found a heart murmur and a small defect on the chest x-ray. Thankfully, it isn’t anything they have to worry about right now and we meet with the cardiologist in August.

–  and for the big finale…. our renters TEXTED us (cowards!) saying that they could no longer rent our house. WE ARE SUPPOSED TO CLOSE NEXT WEEK! Its so disappointing because now we aren’t guaranteed to be able to get the house anymore. But if it doesn’t work out, we will just take it as it wasn’t meant to be and find something closer to his work when we can.

There are about a thousand other little things that have happened that have made it all seem almost unbearable to take anymore bad news. I’m just so thankful that we have the promise that God will never give us more than we can handle.

And besides… I get to stay at home and love on two of the sweetest babies on earth. What more could I ask for?!

So we have been holed up in our bedroom with the window AC unit blasting and surviving the 105+++ degree weather.

Needless to say, I haven’t gotten any pictures this week except a few on my phone.

Here is the state of our bedroom:

toddler bed for Rory, pack-n-play/bassinet for Ryder … will our house ever go back to normal?!

And here is Ryder showing off her muscles at the doctor:

And just for some extra cuteness, I did take this picture Monday night- Ryder LOVES laying on her tummy just like Rory did.

I mean, is there anything sweeter than that?!

  1. What a yuck week! I hope it gets better soon. The girls are gorgeous 🙂 My sister had a heart murmur when she was born but it went away in a couple of years without any kind of treatment. Hopefully Ryder’s won’t be a big issue.

  2. Oh wow, I’ll definitely be thinking about you and praying for you! Hang in there and just keep loving on those sweet babies — they have a way of making it all better 🙂

  3. I had a heart murmur till I was 5…didn’t slow me down a bit. And they aren’t worried about Clayton’s either so I just know she will be fine. She certainly looks healthy and happy and that’s half the battle. And she couldn’t be more loved. And more special, she has a big sister to teach her all the ropes. Look out world!!

  4. We went through the same thing (heart murmur) with Taylor. She ended up having a hole in her heart. We went in for pre-surgery tests and the hole had dissappeared between Fri and a dr appt and Mon at the hospital for pre-surgery tests. Our God is awesome. Your dad was there for the whole thing!
