So far we have had a WONDERFUL weekend. Hope you are having a great weekend too!

This morning a friend of mine around the corner, Roxanne, came and got Rory for a playdate with her son, Samuel. She didn’t ask me, she just said, “Ok I’m coming to get Rory tomorrow morning”. She knew I’d never ask, and I am just so thankful for friends like her. And I have some awesome friends just like that in Paris.

After Rory’s nap we went outside to play! While we were outside we took a “nature walk” around our backyard and collected leaves and sticks. She thought this was so much fun! Then we came inside and made a nature collage.

It was a wonderful day!

Actually let me go back a couple of weeks. Rory and I ran into the Krogers to get a couple of snacks for her and some juice. I was looking at the fruit snacks and turn around to find little miss Rory naked as a jaybird! Like NO CLOTHES on aisle 5. It was embarrassing. And it happened in like two seconds… I still don’t know how/why.

Back to last night. We went to Tamales (which by the way is the only place to take two under two because it is so loud and no one can hear your kid screaming and gnashing her teeth because of the fact she has to sit). Well we were just eatin’ our dinner and Rory was chowing on some guacamole and talking in her usual manner…. then all of a sudden guacamole is off the fork and on the lady behind us. Oh dear.

So that was fun. I’m just glad it wasn’t a bratty move and that she didn’t mean to. (Or maybe it was and just covered up REALLY well…???)

Then we went to the Home Depots for some supplies for Andy’s new trailer for his new four-wheeler.

Low and behold we are standing in the check out line when all of a sudden I hear the cashier say, “honey, your girl has done lost her britches”. And I’ll be darn if Rory wasn’t diaper-less and bending over to moon the whole store. We probably won’t be welcomed back anytime soon. She also had her squeaky boots on and I’m pretty sure people were annoyed.

So there you have it. Stinker Update- Rory just wants to be nekkid.

Okay I realize this post is too long already but hello! Stinker Update #2!

Oh dear. I must go love on poor Jackson now. I heard her say “I color” but didn’t realize that meant the dog and herself with a sharpie.

BUT! I finally did it!

I was sitting in the living room the other night and decided to try out a wreath. And it actually worked!

Are you ready to learn how to make this?

What you will need:

• Fabric of your color choice. (I got a yard of each and it has made three wreaths worth and I still have some left!)
• Hot glue gun and LOTS OF STICKS
• yarn in whatever color you prefer
• felt squares
• wreath in the size you desire

Step one: Prep work! Turn hot glue gun on so its extremely hot once you are ready to start. Cut different size strips out of your fabric. Also, cut different size squares out of the felt. If you do the prep work before, it will be much easier and faster.

Step two: Making the rosettes.

1. Put a pool of glue in the center of the felt square.
2. Place end of fabric strip onto the glue. (Get burned.) Hold down until secure. Then start to twist the strip of fabric.
3. Put glue in a circle around the fabric already glued down onto felt square. Take your twisted fabric strip and place on glue circulating the middle piece of fabric. (Probably get burned again.)
4. Continue to twist the fabric strip, put glue down, and lay down twisted fabric until the strip runs out. Leave a small piece of fabric hanging at the end. (More than likely get burned 12o49 times- give or take seven or so.)
5. Once you are out of fabric, cut away the extra felt around the rosette.
6. Glue the remaining piece to the back of the rosette to secure it and VOILA! you have done the hardest part! (PS you will definitely burn yourself on this part.)
7. Once you have the desired amount of rosettes made, arrange them however you want them to go onto the wreath. I am majorly OCD so it takes me forever to figure out exactly how I want it.
8. Once you have your pattern, glue all the rosettes together. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of this part. Sorry. (And I assure you that your fingers will be burned- but at least its for the last time during this tutorial!)

Step Three: Finish the wreath.

1. Take the yarn and wrap it around your wreath. I weaved mine into the wreath as well to make it secure.
2. Take your rosettes that are glued securely together (and dried). Place them wherever you want them on the wreath. Again, OCD kicks in for me so it takes forever. Then glue it onto the wreath. I also weaved some yarn through them and hid it to make it more secure. Use a generous amount of glue and that sucker will stay! And there you have it- you have made the wreath!

Now for the fun, less painful part (due to all the burnings)- I’m giving a wreath away! All you have to do is comment ON THIS POST ONLY and on Friday I will select a winner through a random number generator! US residents only, please. It will be smaller than this wreath by a little only so I can ship it cheaper and easier.

We had a great weekend. It was the first weekend in a long time that we hung around the house and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Who doesn’t love a lazy weekend?! Next weekend will be a busy one for us- we’re painting the living room and guest bathroom! And then, my friends, the home improvements will be complete for a long while! Yay! We are also heading to Dallas to do some shopping for the fall for Rory. I had tons of clothes for her sizes so far but don’t have much at all for 6-9 months.

Of course, I won’t leave out pictures of the little stinker. I know the grandparents only want to see her face on here!
